Fast and cheap Software

Visit any computer store today and you will find what looks like miles and miles of software for sale. Certainly tempting shopping, there are some problems with buying software on the shelves. In the set, the software-also known as "commercial software "-can be costly, and incompatible, and obsolete compared to what is available online. Fortunately, there is an alternative to commercial software and although it is not new, it is one of the most wasted opportunities in the IT industry.

We are talking about shareware software that you can try before you buy.
Shareware has a long history and was quite popular in the days when BBS (bulletin board systems) ruled the industry online. It has not gone anywhere, but its competition with commercial software is fierce – so fierce that it tends to fall on the burner again among new computer users. This is unfortunate because shareware has so many advantages over commercial software.

One of these benefits is your cost. In general, shareware is generally cheaper than commercial software. But don't misunderstand the cost. With shareware, cheap is not equal to low quality and there are many examples that show that shareware often surpasses the quality of commercial software over and over again. How many savings are we talking about? You could buy a quality word processor, spreadsheet, database program, or system utility anywhere from a simple $15 to less than a hundred. It is almost unknown in stores like Best buy, Circuit City, or nerdy, but the shareware programs offered in this rival price range even Microsoft Office Suite.

Another advantage that shareware has in commercial software is its compatibility. We're not saying shareware is compatible with all operating systems. What we are saying is that since we can test shareware before paying for it, we can determine if the software is fully compatible with our systems in the first place. In other words, we can find out if the software is doing the way we want it and if someone is trying to do the same with the commercial software, it will be in great disappointment.

Commercial software policy does not even allow returns, much less "borrow " to test them.
The last advantage that shareware has in commercial software (but certainly not the least) is its applicability. Clear and simple, shareware is the best bet when you want to keep on top of the latest version of a particular program. Of course, computer stores go out of their way to keep their inventory up to date, but when you can download version 5.6042 of a shareware program, instead of buying a 3.0 commercial version of the local it store, there's simply no Comparison.

Which brings us to our next point. Where do we get shareware? Shareware is all over the Internet and it is very difficult not to collide with it. The most popular places to find shareware is in thousands of download libraries, however, companies (and even independent programmers behind shareware) are offering more and more shareware of their own websites. A simple Google or Yahoo search for a particular type of program will produce all kinds of results that direct you to the items you can try before you buy.

Note, however, that because shareware is not a commercial software, you cannot experience a full program as you would if you purchased the software from a box. Shareware may or might not be limited-meaning that some functions may not be available to you until the program is paid. These limitations are often small and do not interfere with the way their full-version operations are. It's actually just implemented as a quick payment method. Remember that shareware is not Freeware. You should not try to use shareware as commercial software without paying for it.

About the only thing that is similar between shareware and commercial software is the way you can buy them. With a credit card, you can be the new owner of your own software in a matter of minutes.
